IASCE Announces an Award Program for
Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Cooperative Learning The IASCE Achievement Awards are intended to recognize individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to the field of cooperative learning. Consideration will be given to a variety of contributions, including research, the production of original materials, and service to organizations and structures that enhance cooperation in education and extend high-quality practices in cooperative learning. To submit a nomination, please complete the IASCE Awards 2008 Nomination Form and send to Professor Robyn Gillies PhD at r.gillies@uq.edu.au.
Conference Announcement: We are happy to announce the upcoming conference Cooperative Learning in Multicultural Societies: Critical Reflections in Turin, Italy on January 19th through January 22nd. This co-sponsored international conference will offer educators an opportunity to explore formal and informal educational models, strategies, and practices for successful cooperation in intercultural education. For four full days, participants will share resources and expertise and will interact with educators who are working with ethnically, culturally, academically and linguistically diverse classrooms in today’s schools. The language of the conference is English, with several workshops during the pre-conference in Italian. The third annual Mid-American Conference on Cooperative Learning will be held July 21 – 22, 2005 at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri at the Inn at the Grand Glaize.
